Welcome

Welcome to the Common Education Data Standards Initiative!

Important News: New combined CEDS Web Site!

Thank you for visiting the Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) Initiative website. In order to provide complete information in one place, the non-governmental CEDS Consortium and the National Center on Education Statistics (NCES) are now collaborating on a single website at http://ceds.ed.gov. Please access the new site for a wealth of information including the most current version of the CEDS, tools to help stakeholders analyze their systems, and information on how you can support the initiative and stay involved.

If you have any questions, please contact either John Blegen at jblegen@sheeo.org or Marci Giang at marcig@ccsso.org. We invite you to learn more about education data standards and become involved in this important initiative for education.

The CEDS project is a national collaborative effort to develop voluntary, common data standards for a key set of education data elements to streamline the exchange, comparison, and understanding of data within and across early learning through postsecondary institutions and sectors. The CEDS Consortium, a coalition of education stakeholders that is enthusiastically supporting the CEDS effort led by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO), has partnered with the National Center on Education Statistics (NCES) to bring a more comprehensive website to the community. Other partners include the Standards Interoperability Framework (SIF) Association, Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC), and the Data Quality Campaign (DQC).
